About Me

I'm a local guy, lived in Sacramento for 20 years now. I raised my daughter and son here, and now they are off to college, and doing wonderfully. My occupation is, as my grandmother used to call it, 'The Boob Tube'. Of course if I repeated it, I might get in a bit of trouble. Honestly, it's just about TV for me. I work as a reporter on a locally produced National PBS program; America's Heartland. KVIE is one of my 'second homes', as I spend a great deal of time there working as a pledge drive volunteer, helping to raise money to keep that great station on the air. My most incredible love most recently, has been producing a new program all about Volunteers. Inspired Actions the TV Show celebrates and showcases volunteerism. It's coming to a station near you, soon, but in the mean time, keep an eye out for VolunteerFest 2011 @ Raley Field.

A Chance to support - even at the last minute.

Local business has been less than enthusiastic about supporting many events, both locally, and nationally, due in part, to the economy, and also, to the vast number of requests for all types of upspring opportunities. The sea is wide where sponsorship money is needed, and not many companies these days are casting a wide net of support. Important issues, community events, common and functional causes are where most money is going today, and that makes sense. Here in Sacramento, an event is happening this coming Sunday, March 27th, and it could still use some of that support. And, it fits well within the scope of the aforementioned importance scale. VolunteerFest 2011 is going to occur thi

Conversation about: Sacramento helping Haiti

Casey - I thought I would share another resource that I think is crucial. Sometimes, we tend to forget after soem time has passed, just how much HELP is still needed. To that end, I, a local Sacramento man, have launched a global movement from Facebook to help Haiti. The premise is that we DO forget, and this is a tragedy that can ONLY get worse if we do, so we must take time to REMEMBER Haiti in the month of March - the March For Haiti movement seeks 20 thousand pledges of action in March to remember and help Haiti victims. Started right here in Sacramento, and reaching out globally, with members already on board from Brazil, Ecuador, Africa, Canada and across America. I don't think this link will work, unless you edit and add it above....but I will post it anyhow, for your readers to use. http://marchforhaiti.org - or directly to the Facebook Cause at http://apps.facebook.com/causes/438728 Hopefully, JOIN so that we can, as a global community, Remember and Help the victims in March...two months AFTER the disaster.
