Thank you very much for your help, Mike! Please keep us informed on future events at Trail Mix!
Hi, Julie! Thanks for the comment. Lynda said this tour was just a glimpse of what they have in the Lantern Tours in October. Tickets go on sale Sept. 1 and she said they sell out in a week.
Hi, Ken! While interviewing Quirk Saturday, she mentioned that the California Myotis bat is the mosquito specialist. The Free-Tailed and Big Brown bats eat a variety of insects but have their favorites. The Free-Tailed bat likes moths while the Big Brown bat likes beetles. Northern California Bats' website has a list of bats common in the area, and includes their diet: http://norcalbats.org/about_bats.shtml
Thanks for the comment, William! In reference to the events at Capitol Mall, Bonnie Osborn said that the city was very receptive to the festival as they hope to hold more events there. She estimated the festival may have brought hundreds of thousands of dollars to downtown businesses.
Hello, Greekwatt. Was there a user named Michele who wrote a comment that has since been deleted? While visiting the Dog Expo Friday afternoon, I did not see any shock collars, nor a vendor who sold that product. That's not to say there may have not been shock collars there, but if you'd like to ask organizers, their number is 530-672-7490.
Hi, Cassidy! They're on the verge of deciding the route, and will likely have it up on their website (www.sactotweed.blogspot.com) within the next few days.
Thanks, Kati! I loved your work at the Jazz Festival!
Thank you very much, Rhonda!
Hi, Dahogre! I e-mailed Kenny Altenburg with your question and here is his response: "That’s a great question, and we made sure maintenance of the playground was a priority while we were planning this project. Since the playground is on city land, the Sacramento Parks & Recreation Department came up with a maintenance plan and signed off on it. This included daily and weekly checks for the maintenance staff to follow, as well as an annual inspection by the City’s Certified Playground Safety Inspector. We hope that this will help the playground reach its use life of 15+ years. I believe the P&R Department has money set aside to top off the safety surfacing of its playgrounds each year, as this is the highest maintenance cost they should encounter. Most equipment issues will be covered by a warranty from the manufacturer – Playworld Systems." Thanks for the great question!
Thanks, Rob! I read your story too, great stuff! Definitely, I hope they have better patience than I did at that age, and manage to wait until Monday.
You've beaten everyone to the joke, Maxwell, but the Fembots already have a disclaimer on their website: "NOTE: No, we are not in any way, shape, or form affiliated with or related to the Austin Powers Fembots."
Hi guys! Sorry for the late clarification, but there was a cake decorating demonstration that only lasted a matter of hours. The attractions, events and performances were not one at a time, but overlapped. Please note it was among numerous other events and performances. Personally, if I was turning 125, I'd demand a cake of equal stature.
Hi, Ahsan! Thank you for pointing out the time and efforts of the Crocker's staff and volunteers! Their effort and commitment were very apparent.
Thanks for informing us about this organization, Buck! Do you know what inspired the Hogans to start the network of businesses and the foundation?
Great information, Michael! I had no idea this was planned and it sounds great. Do you know if the Kings have done anything like this before?
Hey everybody! Glad to hear some of you are interested in riding the only mechanical bull in the Sacramento area. Anyone know of any others, by chance? Hurricane: Perhaps we can agree that Downtown offers a wide assortment of restaurants? Ahsan: I completely agree, and hope Andrea Martin contacts me for future bull riding competitions or events. Denise: I'm not quite sure, I'll shoot Andrea an e-mail and ask. Thank you, everyone!
Hey everybody! Thanks for all your comments and interest in Farmer's markets. In reference to the certified Farmer's markets, the list at the bottom of the page includes numerous certified markets. The California Certified Farmers' Markets website is www.CaFarmersMarkets.com. If anyone is interested in speaking with someone at that organization, you can reach them at (916) 688-0100. Speaking with Dan Best, he said they are the coordinators of Sacramento's 10 largest markets. In reference to the apples in the photos, I believe the grower stated his farm is close to Apple Hill. The photos were taken at the Sunday morning state parking lot market. You may be able to speak with the farmer in future Sundays if you're interested.
Great article, Norm! Thank you so much for the details, and I'd love to read an article on any sort of follow-up and motive.
Thank you so much for your very thorough responses and the variety of questions answered throughout your time with Sacramento Press. I'm sure that most people, like myself, found numerous questions and answers extremely helpful. I've wondered about many of these topics myself. Thank you again.

Thank you, Bill! I had no idea they had such resources before this article.
