One Scary Nite 3

After a slightly flawed but excellent nonetheless One Scary Nite 2, expectations were high for the third annual installment of the "Deon Taylor Enterprises presents: One Scary Nite" Halloween party, which went down at the California Auto Museum Thursday night. Familiar attractions returning this year included "Mad Scientist" Jack Sparx with his Tesla coil, huge propane fireballs and deranged laugh, stilt walkers, fire dancers, go-go dancers and many bloody, gory "staff monsters" and zombies who shuffled around the venue with a vacant look in their eyes, grunting at passing partygoers. TFO Presents- Zombie Walk

Did you know Sacramento's very own Trash Film Orgy (TFO) is credited with being home to the first organized Zombie Walk? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_walk#History The summer season is trigger for these midnight movie Trash Film Orgy fans, who descend like a mass migratory bugs filling the hallways and seats of the Crest theatre. Though their year round numbers never fully deplete, once their season starts you see them multiply exponentially for 6 consecutive Saturdays at midnight. Film, TV celebs beam in for Sacramento Sci-Fi/Horror Show

Halloween came early last weekend when armies of zombies, stormtroopers and hundreds of civilian fanboys and fangirls joined Lando Calrissian, Jason Voorhees and Howard the Duck for a celebration of all things dark and bloodiful at the two-day Sacramento Sci-Fi/Horror Show. For some attendees – many of whom came dressed to the Plan Nines – the draws were the special screenings of sci-fi and horror films. For others it was a chance to bypass the dozens of vendors hawking everything from phasers to fine art for a chance to nab a vintage Hallmark “Star Trek” ornament for a song at Saturday’s auction (with proceeds benefitting Loaves & Fishes’ Mustard Seed School). Indy Euphoria

This Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., Sacramento's Scottish Rite Center will open its doors for Indy Euphoria, "Sacramento's Vinyl Toy, D.I.Y. & Indy Comix Show." The event will feature live art, a charity auction, film screenings, hundreds of vendors, celebrated comic book guests, seminars and workshops. "Indy Comix" is an umbrella term for projects that fall outside the realm of mainstream superhero comics.
