It's that time of year again; temperatures heat up, the Sacramento River gets busy, concerts kick into high gear and festivals abound. One of the more popular festivals in the region has been around since 2000, and has evolved into one of the biggest and most attended brew festivals in Sacramento. The first West Coast Brew Festival attracted only 350 attendees. Founder and producer, Matson Breaky, said that festival lost a lot of money, but he stayed on course and has seen it grow more and more every year. The biggest brew festival in Sacramento turns 10 today at the same location is was launched - on the banks of the Sacramento River at Miller Park surrounded by giant Sycamores and the gentle breeze from the Delta.  Last year, the festival saw the first 100 degree mark and today it seems it may also scrape the tripple digits making it the best event in town to cool off with. West Coast Brew Fest enlivens Miller Park

If you like beer, it’s Miller Time! Miller Park, to be exact. That’s where the 10th annual West Coast Brew Fest will be held Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. More than 120 beers from more than 60 microbreweries from all over the left coast will be available for tasting. But you won’t be seeing any of those old-school commercial brews in this celebration of American Craft Beer Week. Instead, homemade and microbrewery concoctions will be the focus, with unlimited tasting all afternoon. Tickets are $25 in advance if you buy online at westcoastbrewfest.com before 6 p.m. today.
