Hot Italian temporarily a car showroom?

People headed to Midtown’s Hot Italian for a pizza or gelato might be surprised to see two new additions to restaurant – a pair of cars from Italian manufacturer Fiat, which returned to the United States this year after a 27-year hiatus. “We’ve been looking for new pop-up concepts, and they’re stylish, they’re Italian, and they’re a great fit,” said Andrea Lepore, managing partner of Hot Italian, located at 16th and Q streets. Automotive treasure hunters find gems and long sought items at California Automobile Museum's Fall Swap Meet. 6am and already they are setting up the tables. The vehicles were lined up for over an hour and now it’s time to get to work. Trunks are opened, tailgates lowered and pop-up canopies appear to shade goods. A few polish up the goods, but most leave them alone. The older, the dirtier, the more rust, the better. #1. WEST SAC- West Sacramento police and Davis SWAT served warrants on several locations in West Sacramento related to recent gang activity occurring in the city including the fatal shooting at the Ortega's Night Club. Two people were arrested and a medium sized marijuana grow was located during the operation. #2. SOUTH SAC- A shooting occurred in an apartment on 44th Ave near 39th St in south Sacramento. The victim was shot once in the leg and transported to Kaiser South Trauma Center. Further details were unavailable at the time. #3. Downtown car show and cruise sports a good showing

A plethora of sparkling cars bejeweled J Street in downtown Sacramento as a cruising tradition returned. Scores of classic and snazzy modern cars cruised J street Saturday afternoon, from Midtown to the Sac State University parking lot. The sight was veritable eye candy for any car enthusiast. The event started in the early afternoon with staging of the cars for show on 18th through 20th streets on either side of J for spectators to meander and appreciate. The event drew a constituency of folks to the midtown area who normally would not be there on a Saturday afternoon. It became a natural festival setting as attendees shopped and gleaned from side walk sales, giving local businesses a

The accident that wasn't an accident at all

North Highlands, Sacramento, CA- Early Saturday morning, police and fire received a call for a vehicle accident on North Watt at Karl. When police arrived, the victim was crawling from the wreckage. It was quickly discovered that the victim wasn't just holding his chest from injuries incurred in the accident; he had been shot in a drive-by shooting, lost control of the vehicle, and plowed through a tree before his vehicle came to rest. The victim was transported to the hospital immediately in serious condition. An update will follow as more information becomes available.

Four survive dramatic crash

Smoke, flying debris and a rolled over vehicle is what Jerry Cook saw in front of him as he traveled south on Business 80. Four occupants are very fortunate to be alive today. At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, their Buick Lacrosse slammed into the barriers at the interchange of West Business 80 and Highway 160. The vehicle smashed through all the sand filled barriers then flip over coming to rest on it's roof. Jerry Cook was driving down 80 when all he saw in front of him was a cloud of smoke, flying debris and other cars dodging around the debris as the Buick came to rest.
