Beginning on Friday and running until July 11, the 10-day event features three- to four-course gourmet meals and wine from Sacramento’s best restaurants for a discounted price. Produced by the Sacramento Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and sponsored by the California Restaurant Association's Sacramento Chapter, OpenTable.com and Fox 40, the celebration of good food and good wine allows diners a culinary experience for a portion of the normal price. The Salvation Army Celebrates 125 years of Service to the Sacramento Community

This year marks the 125th anniversary of The Salvation Army, an internationally known and respected community assistance-based organization. Currently present in 121 countries around the world, The Salvation Army was founded in the United Kingdom in 1865, and later brought to the United States and Sacramento in the 1880s. May 19 marks a special day for the organization and The Firehouse restaurant, as it was on that day in 1885 that The Salvation Army held its first meeting in Sacramento at The Firehouse.
