A festive, county fair sort of atmosphere prevailed as people milled around with frames yoked over their shoulders, talking bikes, and revving their engines Sunday at the Vintage Bicycle and Motorcycle Swap Meet. A line of eager cycle enthusiasts stretching a quarter mile waited for the gates to open as early as 7 a.m. Sunday morning where Sacramento 6 Drive-in hosted the Vintage Bicycle and Motorcycle Swap Meet. Or any bike for that matter.   Hobbyists, collectors and vendors alike will be gathering in tandem at the Sacramento 6 Drive-in from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 12. for the Sacramento Cycle Swap Meet.   A huge variety of new, used and vintage motorcycle and bicycle parts and accessories will be available for sale at low prices. The Bike Corral will be open for riders to show off their own bikes and for browsing through the vendors’ wares, including spare parts, tools and other bike-related paraphernalia.   The event is at the Sacramento 6 Drive-in at 9616 Oates Drive. The swaps are for local eco-minded parents to get together and recycle (exchange) their kid’s stuff (ages 0-14 and maternity). After the swaps, I donate the leftovers to local charities and needy families. How it works: You bring items to swap (clothing, toys, sports equipment, etc.) plus $5 per family. While the volunteers set up, the kids can play in our family friendly venues and parents can look around at our vendor tables. Mark your calendar and don't miss the California Automobile Museum's Annual Spring Swap Meet on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 6am - 2pm.Vendors will offer unique and hard to find automobile collectibles and accessories, including antique auto parts, tools, books, magazines, models and much more! The Meet is located next to the Museum at 2400 Front Street - parking in Museum parking lot, on the street, and behind the Museum.
