Participants can pick out a pair of red shoes, in honor of Ronald McDonald’s trademark footwear, and join the event on June 26 for the premier gourmet food crawl in the Sacramento culinary district. The grand prize winner may also choose to take home $1.2 million dollars in cash as opposed to the House. The proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California, providing support and housing to families whose children face life-threatening illnesses. The Sacramento Ronald McDonald House is devoted to providing comfort and support for families who desperately need assistance as they try to maintain strength and hope in the face of their medical crisis. Each of these families come from a different background and has children suffering from a multitude of illnesses and injuries. Regardless of the situation that led them to their stay at the House, the common thread among these families is that they each need a safe and stable place to rest and re-group.
