October 10, 2011 – Quick Quack Car Wash, a Sacramento-based company with six express car washes in the area is offering a one thousand dollar reward for information leading to the return of “Quackals,” a professional mascot costume in the shape of a large yellow duck. The “duck suit” was stolen out of a white minivan belonging to Kandi Baker, the performer who brings Quackals to life. The minivan was broken into as it was parked in downtown Sacramento on Front Street near O Street on Saturday at approximately 6:00 pm. Sacramento Metro Fire Investigators have concluded that the double fatality fire that occurred at 4061 Stephens Dr. on April 6, 2011 resulting in the deaths of Laura Fernandez, age 38, and her son Wilfred Villarruel, age eight, was an act of Arson. Metro Fire Investigators are working with Sacramento County Sheriff’s investigators and are asking the public for assistance. April 6, 2011 at 8:03pm, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District received an alarm for a house fire at 4061 Stephen Drive in North Highlands.
