Springtime in Paris

SACRAMENTO, CALIF.- March 4, 2012- You cannot escape the world of  fashion. Everyone has their own sense of style and this is what makes them unique. Whether you're rocking the latest fashion statements from  fashion week or you're wearing a brown paper bag, your clothes are part of what makes you, you. Yesterday, the Hidalgo Family hosted the fashion show "Springtime in Paris" at Oakmont High School. It was a night of high fashion and French delicasies.  Not only was it a great show, but the all proceeds went to a non-profit organization, Zafia's Family House. Human Toys

Old Ironsides hosted an evening of music with artists from as far away as Paris, France and also musicians from here in Sacramento. Tender Cinders, Human Toys and Der Spazm played at this Jerry Perry production. Tender Cinders (inspired by a Bill Withers song) is made up of 6 members including 2 lead singers, 1 drummer, 1 plays a variety of instruments and 2 percussionists (later another percussionist joined the group). Tatiana and Brian Latour are married to each other and they have played together with this band for only a few months. Martians and Paris at French Film Festival opening

A man wearing a red beret, spandex shorts, black motorcycle boots and a black leather vest posed for photos, and local DJs Christophe and Roger spun French music in the background at the Crest lobby during the opening reception of the Eighth Sacramento French Film Festival Friday night. French Film festival opens tomorrow

"French trash" vacationers, a late-in-life marriage, a self-taught painter gone mad and Beauty and the Beast will take to the screen at the Crest Theatre this weekend. Usually occurring in July, the eighth Sacramento French Film festival has an early start this year with its opening reception tomorrow night. The festival is held annually at the Crest Theatre as a project of the Alliance Française de Sacramento; it will run Friday through Sunday this weekend and Saturday and Sunday next weekend.
