Indie music ruled the night at the California State University, Sacramento Union Ballroom this past Monday. Both the opening and feature band gave the audience great performances and showed their eclectic sound. Opening the show was New Zealand group, Avalanche City, originally started as a solo project by Dave Baxter. The multi-instrumental band now includes musicians Ben Duncan, Strahan Cole, Romelei Rodriguez, Ben Tolich and Johnny Brock.   On Sunday, August 15, SBL Entertainment presents Warm Earth Records internationally acclaimed recording artists Te Vaka at Harlow's located at 2708 J Street, in Sacramento. Te Vaka is an amazing group of twelve musicians and dancers from Tokelau, Tuvalu, Samoa, Cook Islands, and New Zealand. The band performs music inspired by the sounds of the South Pacific.        Eating good food, drinking good wine, and keeping the kids off the streets. These are three of my of my favorite pastimes. Unfortunately, it is rare that I get to indulge in all three at once. Every so often, however, the stars align just so, and offer up an event that allows me to eat, drink and help kids.   The food- and wine-pairing fundraiser for the VIBE Foundation at Le Cordon Bleu Friday night was one such occasion.   The gala was sponsored by Infuze Marketing, who work with local, lesser known wineries at a variety of events throughout the Sacramento area. Infuse selects a specific nonprofit to benefit from each one of their events.   The VIBE Foundation is creating a
