Uh Huh Her to perform at Harlow's

Taking their name from the 2004 PJ Harvey album of the same title, L.A.-based Uh Huh Her is a sultry electro-pop duo made up of ex-Mellodrone bassist and keyboardist Camila Grey (who has collaborated with Busta Rhymes, Kelly Osbourne and Dr. Dre) and musician and actress Leisha Hailey, formerly of the Murmurs (and who you might recognize from her role as bisexual journalist Alice Pieszecki on Showtime's “The L Word”). The pair creates lush, layered synth-driven pop, complemented by soothing, ethereal vocals and driven by up-tempo electronic beats. Naked Lounge venue mixes music and microbrew

The Naked Lounge, at 11th and H, opened its music venue last month with a bang. Since February, the locally-owned coffee shop has been serving joe from it's newest downtown location in the Retrolodge. But after fitting a stage and about 50 seats into the space next door and adding beer and music to the menu, it's now turned into Sacramento's newest late night destination. The Golden Cadillacs rocked a packed house on Oct. 15, and has since earned a spot as the venue's house band, a regularly appearing act. Buff Castle packs a musical punch.

Driving through midtown, there’s always been one store front that has stood out to me. As someone with slight type-A tendencies, the sign outside of Buff Castle has always driven me nuts! I wasn’t ever sure if it was even a currently open store, or if some kids had just spray painted the outside of the building. Since I was meandering, I decided to finally check it out. If you’re looking for reasonably priced retro (80’s and back) clothes / costumes, they have them. The store isn’t packed to the brim, but what they do have is affordable.
