Saturday, the Make-a-Wish Foundation Sacramento and Northeastern California chapter hosted the elegant 23rd Annual Winter Wine & Food Fest, featuring tasting from 120 regional wineries, breweries and restaurants. The event also offered live music by classic cover band Over the Edge Band, a silent auction hosted by Dave Thompson from MIX 96 and a VIP live auction. Each year the Sacramento Convention Center houses the annual Winter Wine and Food Festival in order to benefit the Northern California chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The goal for this year’s twenty-second annual event was to meet or exceed the $700,000 raised from last year’s Food and Wine Fest. The event consisted of a food and wine tasting portion from 5-7:30 p.m., followed by a VIP live auction from 7:45-10 p.m.   As guests entered the main exhibition hall, they were given a wine glass and a food plate and allowed to roam the floor in search of whatever wine or food that struck their fancy. Make A Wish is a charitable non-profit organization whose purpose is to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Last year 1,500 people attended and we raised $450,000 which granted 92 wishes. This year we hope to grant 95 wishes!
