Sacramento River Parkway signs campaign for more public awareness

Council members and community members alike gathered on the Sacramento River Parkway Friday morning, at the Le Rivage Hotel trail entrance, to celebrate the first in a series of new signs to officially “brand” the parkway. The completion of the project was heralded by many as the beginning of a campaign to bring more public awareness to the Sacramento River Parkway Plan. First adopted by the city in 1975 and revised in 1997, the plan seeks to extend the trail along the Sacramento River levee in the Pocket area, where it is currently closed to the public. “It’s a way for people to enjoy our lovely riverfront,” said Councilman Rob Fong. Attorney issues 2,529-page document on development department issues

A series of issues at the city’s Community Development Department — including the noncollection, waiver, underassessment and deferral of fees charged to developers — are presented in a 2,529-page document the city attorney’s office released Thursday. The document is an offshoot from a separate investigation by City Attorney Eileen Teichert’s office and the law firm Renee Sloan Holtzman Sakai. In that investigation, Teichert and Renee Sloan examined city building permits that were approved last year for a flood zone in Natomas. Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Gala to Feature TV Host Guy Farris

The Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce will hold its 3rd Annual Installation Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento. Guy Farris, co-host of News 10’s popular TV magazine program, Sacramento & Co., will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
