Saturday, Oct. 2 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Alzheimers Association hosts the 2010 Memory Walk. The three-mile walk begins at the South Steps of the Capitol at 10 a.m. after registration. Around 1,800 people are expected. 7:30-10 p.m. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society hosts the annual Light the Night Walk to raise awareness and funds in the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. About 2,000 people will participate. 1 - 2 p.m. The China National Day Foundation will be holding a flag-raising ceremony on the north steps of the Capitol. About 100 people will attend. Sunday, Oct. 4 7:30 a.m. - Noon The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be holding its annual Walk to Cure Diabetes, beginning at the West Steps. About 3,000 people will participate.
