Lipizzaner Stallions perform at Power Balance Pavilion

The "World-Famous" Lipizzaner Stallions pranced, danced and jumped in front of an audience of hundreds at Power Balance Pavilion Saturday night. The show, in its 41st year, uses horses bred for Europe's nobility to demonstrate the art of "dressage," where techniques once used for battle are shown as the height of horsemanship. Report: Casspi a participant in H.O.R.S.E. at All-Star weekend

Sacramento Kings rookie swingman Omri Casspi will be a participant in H.O.R.S.E., presented by Geico at the NBA 2010 All-Star Weekend in Dallas on Saturday, according to a report by J.E. Skeets of Yahoo! Sports. The event is this Saturday at 4 p.m. on TNT. The report also indicates that last year's H.O.R.S.E. champion, Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant, and Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will also compete for the title. Casspi has already been selected to the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, where he will play for the rookie team along with rookie teammate Tyreke Evans. Hit-and-run totals horse carriage

In the kind of news that hasn't made headlines in years, three people and a draft horse are mending this week after a car totaled a horse-drawn carriage near Sacramento's waterfront. Police are still searching for the silver Toyota sedan that rammed into the carriage on Third Street as it circled Crocker Park Sunday night, Sacramento Police spokesperson Norm Leong said. One of Old Sacramento's horse-and-carriage businesses may be out an $8,500 replica French carriage unless the driver steps forward. The car struck without warning near O Street. Horse survives I-5 crash

Sacramento, CA- A multi-agency rescue team worked together to extricate and transport the horse to UC Davis Veterinary Clinic. According to California Highway Patrol, while traveling south bound on Interstate 5, just south of the Sacramento Metropolitan Airport, early Sunday morning the driver of a truck with horse trailer in tow, crashed into the back of a car and overturned the horse trailer. The trailer became disconnected from the truck and while leaving the horse trapped in the trailer, the driver drove away and fled the scene.
