Over the past few weeks, what is known as the "Occupy" movement has gained national attention. What started out as Occupy Wall Street in New York City has become a national phenomena and people are starting to "occupy" everything. In Oakland, CA they occupied the port of Oakland and a Whole Foods grocery store, in Fresno, CA they occupied a fruit stand and a Gottschalks, in Texas they occupied Fiesta Texas and Whataburger (that actually sounds pretty fun), and in Delaware they occupied...well they just occupied. Officials, company careful with demolition

The final demolition of a former Sacramento police building has been halted again while concerns over an adjacent power station are worked out. Advantage Demolition was preparing to demonstrate Monday how the last two exterior walls could be pulled down safely next to transformers at a historic power station, now known as SMUD Station A, at Sixth and H streets. The station, whose origins date to 1895, supplies power to up to 40 percent of downtown Sacramento, said Sacramento Municipal Utility District spokesperson Dace Udris. "Safe Ground" abandoned

At Mayor Kevin Johnson's request, homeless campers have cleared out of a vacant lot used in a "safe ground" dispute with the city, he said Monday. Johnson visited the property near 13th and C streets, which is owned by attorney Mark Merin, over the weekend to discuss the ongoing controversy with campers, the mayor said in a late afternoon press conference. On Sunday, as many as 40 people left the property where they'd been camping for a month after saying they believe their statement has been made.
