One Scary Night

It was December, 1991, I was an eighth grader and I had just received my winter grades. My parents had promised to buy me a CD for every A I earned, so I was especially thrilled to see four of them on my report card.                Four A’s. Four CDs. The first CDs I'd ever own. Read ’em and weep: Jesus Jones’ "Doubt," Nirvana’s "Nevermind," Boyz II Men’s, "Cooleyhighharmony" and Bell Biv Devoe’s "Poison."                I can't explain away the Jesus Jones decision. The haunt features dozens of rooms that brave attendees can wander through unguided, for maximum scare, in groups of one to four. "A tour guide in a haunted house is not very scary," Polanco said. Polanco promises that no one is safe, even if you're in the middle of the group, in the haunt, with inmates, psychotic serial killer

But there's the commercial Halloween that most of us have come to view as the holiday and then there are those that look beyond the candy and the costumes for something more sinister. And while personally I am not a fan of the occult, strolling passed the house at 22nd and H Street, might give anyone a chill. In the middle of the day, at dusk or the middle of the night, the house dem
