Propel Fuels has teamed up with Growth Energy to offer Sacramento residents five gallons of free E85 or Biodiesel as part of a promotion aimed at getting more drivers to use homegrown, renewable fuels instead of imported gasoline. “There are more than 40,000 Flex Fuel drivers in the Sacramento area and we want to make sure they know that homegrown fuels, like Propel’s E85 and Biodiesel, are locally-available alternatives to the foreign oil used in gasoline,” said Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis. “With our country’s own Independence Day right around the corner, we want to encourage Flex Fuel vehicle owners to also demonstrate their independence from foreign oil at the pump.” The promotion, whi
Ever wanted to create your own doodle on the Google homepage? Three local companies — Digital Deployment, Fuel Creative Group and JM Design — teamed up to create two web-based kiosks enabling you to do just that. They’re located in the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City. “Doodle 4 Google: If I Could Do Anything, I Would...” features the kiosks alongside 40 doodles from children whose art finishes the sentence, “If I could do anything, I would...” The winning drawing was featured on the Google homepage last month. The Sacramento Clean Tech Showcase keynote speaker Daniel Sperling is an internationally-renowned expert on transportation, energy and sustainability issues. In December he co-authored the book Two Billion Cars which projects that within 20 years the number of motor vehicles on the planet will double from its current total of one billion due primarily to growth in India and China. Sperling is a Professor of Engineering and Environmental Science & Policy at the University of California, Davis, and Founding Director of the university's Institute of Transportation Studies.
