SacMod Home Tour Celebrates Mid-Century Modern Home in Arden Oaks

Join Sacramento Modern (SacMod) for a celebration of the Roush Residence in Sacramento on June 2, 2012 from 1pm - 6pm. There will be food, drink, music, and knowledgeable people on hand to discuss this remarkable mid-century modern home. The Roush Residence was designed by Terry Waters, a Taliesin Fellow with Frank Lloyd Wright and friend/colleague of renowned modernist John Lautner. Waters was also an apprentice of desert modernist Walter S. White. Waters' work was published in acclaimed design magazines such as Arts + Architecture and Domus. Tiny donut shop among Old Sacramento's new businesses

Donut king Danny Johnson just opened one of Old Sacramento's newest businesses. Johnson parlayed an infatuation with donuts into Danny's Mini Donuts – 30 years after putting himself through junior college by making donuts. Only this time, the donuts are really, really small. Measuring 1 1/2 inches wide, a dozen of the plain light cake donuts contain about 13 grams of fat. Johnson also offers them topped with cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, chocolate, vanilla or carmel seconds after frying them in a miniature donut maker. Candy sprinkles are optional.
