Airport receives $150,000 SMUD rebate for green efficiencies at Terminal B

     The Sacramento County Airport System has received a $150,000 rebate from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) for energy efficiencies built into the design and construction of Terminal B at Sacramento International Airport. SMUD director Rob Kerth (Ward 5) will present the SMUD Savings By Design Program check to the Board of Supervisors at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 700 H St.     According to SMUD energy advisers, measures in place at Terminal B would yield a greenhouse gas reduction of 793 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually, the equivalent of planting more than 33,000 trees or removing 165 cars from the road.      The airport’s Big Build design team worked clo

The Center for Land-Based Learning would like to invite Sacramento families and  individuals to the "Fall Open House" at the Farm on Putah Creek, this Sunday, November 7, 2010 from noon to 4:00pm. Autumn is a wonderful time to experience everything the Farm on Putah Creek has to offer you and your family. Sacramento County service helps business comply with enviro regulations and "go green"

The Business Environmental Compliance Center is an initiative focused locally that is another tool online and by other media in helping enterprise anywhere reduce its environmental impact. Starting in 1993 BERC has been providing "one-stop, non-regulatory permit assistance" enabling Sacramento County businesses "to understand and comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations". 12th Annual Sacramento Reptile Show at the Convention Center

Creepy, crawly, slithery critters abound!  The reptiles at the 12th Annual Sacramento Reptile Show were the stars at the Sacramento Convention Center.  The show, which began Saturday, will continue through Sunday and should average about 10,000 reptilian enthusiasts and animal fans alike over the weekend. With strollers packing in the 15,000 square-foot Exhibit Hall, people of all ages appeared amazed at the wide selection of chameleons, bearded dragons, pythons, and poison dart frogs.  Vendors with colorful signs were selling everything from reptilian food, assorted enclosures and incubators.  Many of the vendors were offering promotional discounts for this special show.
