Sac-Con, Sacramento’s Comic, Toy & Anime Show, continues to grow in reputation and in numbers. Comic books, toys, anime art and merchandise, video games, panels, costumes and other entertainment was provided for guests at the Scottish Rite Center in Sacramento on Sunday. Many guests come for a few events at Sac-Con, but the overwhelming majority attends to meet new and old friends and meet their favorite voice actors. Over 100 vendor tables, several small press artists, and arts and craft stations were set up throughout the Center. The Crocker Art Museum was the site for the showing of the Japanese movie Hausu (House). The Japanese cult classic film was shown in the new Crocker Art Auditorium as part of the Thursdays ‘til 9 events. Thursdays ‘til 9, art with a twist, includes Open Art every 4th Thursday of the month. Hausu was co-presented by Movies on the Big Screen (MOBS) with Robert McKeown on hand. McKeown and DeeAnn Little are the creators of MOBS and have been based in Sacramento since its inception in 2006. MOBS shows documentaries, shorts, indie films and cult films like Hausu. Movies on a Big Screen will host the first live broadcast taping of “Cinema Insomnia” Saturday. Fans can watch the “1960’s mess” horror film that is “The Undertaker and His Pals” at the Guild Theater, located at 2828 35th St in Sacramento, as horror host Mr. Lobo — a television personality and actor— provides comic relief in between segments.
