Big Brothers Big Sisters Launches “100 Men, $100K, in 100 Days” Campaign

Yesterday, Big Brothers Big Sisters launched the “100 Men, $100k, 100 Days” campaign to recruit 100 adult male volunteers to generate awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters and to raise critically needed funds to support and maintain those new matches (a pairing of a Little and his or her mentor). The campaign will run from Monday, August 22 and end on Wednesday, November 30th. This campaign was created to meet the overwhelming need for both male mentors and funding. There are currently over 100 boys ready to be matched with Big Brothers in our program. The average time for boys waiting to be matched with a Big is one and a half years due to our lack of Big Brother (male) volunteers. In a

3rd Annual Clean and Sober Poker Run to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

The 3rd Annual Clean and Sober Poker Run benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Great Sacramento will be taking place this Sunday, September 19th. The fee for each rider is $20, which includes a meal, ride pin (for first 1,000 riders) and best high and low hands. Enjoy a live band, raffle, bounce house, food, beverages, fun and so much more! This Saturday Jimmy Valoria, "Big Brother" and Marketing Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and his "Little Brother" Saxon are doing a car wash to support their fund raising efforts for WALK ‘N ROCK FOR KIDS. The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) of Big Brothers Big Sisters will again be hosting the Prom at The Park, a red carpet fund raiser that is sure to be one of the biggest events of the summer for Sacramento’s 21 and up, young professional crowd. This 2nd annual premiere Sacramento event is taking place Friday, June 11, at the Park Ultra Lounge in downtown Sacramento. I am pleased to announce that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento has been chosen as one of Hope Productions Foundation’s 2010 Nonprofit Alliance Partners for the 2nd annual WALK ‘N ROCK FOR KIDS, taking place Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Raley Field in West Sacramento. This fund raising walk and benefit concert event will unite the community for a day of fun as we celebrate and raise funds to support our local children. Bowl for Kids Sake a BIG Success!

On February 27th, over 200 people came out to 2010 Bowl For Kids Sake. It was a day filled with fun and excitement while raising over $43,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Tina Macuha (KOVR13/CW 31) and Darla Givens (News 10) came out to MC the 9:30 and 11:45 sessions and both did a great job. Country Club Lanes and it's staff helped us put on a wonderful event.
