Victor Louis kicked off Sacramento’s Fashion Week with his One Night in Paris fall collection in front of about 500 people Thursday night.  Louis’s show at at Elks Tower Ballroom also displayed the work of seven other local designers. “Those other designers are actually fellow (classmates),” Louis said. “I kind of did interviews at school and selected the best out of everyone.” Louis and the other designers attend the International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT) charter school in Sacramento.  It opened in 2006 and has about 500 students. Women's Empowerment Fits Gala Gowns for Former Homeless Women

 In front of a full-length mirror, a woman twirled around in her white satin ballgown with an excited grin on her face.  Delighted squeals and laughter reverberated throughout the building as women perused the colorful assortment of ballgowns organized on dress racks.  "I love that he is taking pictures of me,  — I feel like a model!" Kim Wesley said as she struck a pose for a photographer.  Tosh Olive, a volunteer and professional seamstress, offered dress adjustments, while volunteers advised on accessories and shoe choices.
