Although former Sacramento resident Ann Tracy moved back to her childhood stomping grounds in Portland Maine this past May, local folks will see some of her latest work at Lumens, 2028 K Street beginning 2nd Saturday, November 12th, from 6 to 9 pm and continuing throughout the month. Tracy was invited to show work in light boxes at the upscale lighting store and gallery by the Center for Contemporary Art. The work will show how Tracy began using light boxes for a specific invitational show and then expanded her thinking about how to showcase her work. The Crest Theatre’s Screen 3 is where a large crowd viewed 12 three-minute films for the first ‘Open Reel’ competition. The evening began with a few words from Mike Azevedo, gallery manager at the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento, and a reminder that all films would be shown Saturday and Sunday at 1020 16th St. as part of the annual Capitol Artists’ Studio Tour. The screening began with two one-minute films by Adam Bearson that featured Lisa Fernald Barker and Shirley Hazlett in their studios. Bearson captured the essence of the artists, focusing on their tools and works, allowing the film to say as much as the subjects. Barker spoke mainly of one painting, while Hazlett spoke of

During the month of October 2011, E Street Gallery, 1115 E St., Sacramento, will host an exhibition entitled “Looking In – Looking Out" by Cherie Hacker, Carrie Markel, and Ann Tracy. It was September 2009 when Beyond the Proscenium Productions (BPP) announced that they were closing the doors and not producing anymore. Founder and artistic director Ann Tracy has spent the last 19 months dealing with all the paperwork that is involved in dissolving a nonprofit. When all was said and done, there was actually money left over! Two Sacramento artists, Ann Tracy and Liv Moe, will show their work in rooms at Reno's NadaDada Motel, where over 100 artists are expected to display and create work, June 18th to the 21st, 2009 at Hotel El Cortez, 239 W 2nd St and the Town House Motor Lodge, 303 W 2nd St in downtown Reno, NV. Tracy will take up residence at the El Cortez in room 212 and Moe will exhibit at the Town House. Hours will generally be 11 am to 4 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
