Saturday, Oct. 23 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will host its annual suicide/depression rally on the West Steps of the Capitol. Around 700 people are expected to attend. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Restoration of Animal Rights (ROAR) will host a demonstration on the North Steps of the Capitol for the passage of HR503 to end the sale and slaughter of horses for human consumption. Around 100 people are expected to attend. Sunday, Oct. 24 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The UC Davis Children’s Hospital will host the Capitol Family Fun Day on the West Steps of the Capitol and surrounding lawn to promote safe and healthy children and families. What's happening at the Capitol: September 19, 20

Saturday, Sept. 19 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and The Effort will hold an "Out of the Darkness" community walk near the west steps of the Capitol. Musician Autumn Sky will provide music for the expected 1,500 participants. Sunday, Sept. 20 9 a.m. - noon The Sacramento chapter of the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation will hold its annual fund-raising walk. Participants can show up and register on walk day near the south steps. Four-hundred people are expected to participate.
