New Spanish Language School Plans to Add Its Sazón to Midtown’s Growing Latino Presence

September 19th will mark the first day of classes for adult students at midtown’s newest addition, CASA de ESPAÑOL. Part gallery, part language center for kids and adults, CASA hopes to add its own sazón (spice) to midtown’s growing Spanish and Latino flavor.   Already speckled with restaurants and galleries like Zocalo, Spanglish, Tapa the World, ArtWork 21, and La Raza Galeria Posada, midtown is beginning to boast a strong Hispanic/Latino presence. CASA de ESPAÑOL intends to contribute to their work by also bringing awareness and love for the diversity and richness within the Latino world.

Pillow Fight!!!

What began as a sparce croud mostly made up of photographers trying to capture a moment full of feathers quickly turned into a fluffy croud. Just as every pillow fight has always started, someone yelled "PILLOW FIGHT!!!!!!". It was at this moment a croud between 100-200 people turned on one another and began swinging, blocking and laughing. It was madness. Kids swinging at adults, Adults swinging at kids. The hardcore pillowfighters with two pillows, one to block and one to swing... When the feathers finally settled and everyone was out of breath there was no clear victor, just a croud of happy people on a beautiful spring day.

Escape the Fate tops Dead Masquerade bill at Ace of Spades

"Escape the Fate! Escape the Fate!" With appetites violently whetted by the three-guitar screamo attack of the final opening band Alesana, the loud chanting of hundreds of eager fans filled Ace of Spades Sunday night, beckoning Escape the Fate, the headliners of the Dead Masquerade tour. The sensory onslaught began with appropriately named opener "Massacre," as the Vegas post-hardcore band pounced on the young crowd like a rabid pack of hyenas on defenseless baby gazelles. Fairytale Town Launches Adults Only Costume Ball

  Fairytale Town opened its gates on Thursday for a special After Hours event, the Once Upon a Night: Moonlight Costume Ball, just for adults. The event was open to adults 18 years of age and older and featured live music, a DJ, dancing, two themed bars, food and beverage, a henna artist, and more.   Fairytale Town continues to promote the imagination, creativity and education of children as their core mission.  However, its After Hours programming will help develop an avenue to reach new audiences, and raise funds to support the park's programs for children and families.  "So many Sacramentans remember coming to Fairytale Town as children, and hold fond memories of the park.  We want to
