Pet-a-Palooza, a pet lovers dream, was held today at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights. The event, which started at 10 a.m. and lasted until 4 p.m., featured live music, animal obstacle courses, water jumping dogs, police dogs, food vendors, pet adoptions and much more. The event seemed to be a smashing success with many fans staying around to hear the musical acts. ‘He is We’ started the afternoon off with a nice set and was quickly followed by ‘Andy Grammar’ and then ‘Whiskey Dawn”. After nearly 5 years away from the spotlight, the Goo Goo Dolls are releasing a new album titled 'Some For the Rest of Us' (August 31, 2010). To help promote the new album, the band brought their grunge style to the Park Ultra Lounge were they performed for 100 select fans of the radio station - Now100.5. The Goo Goo Dolls walked on stage at 4:00pm and played for about 20 minutes. They performed three new songs ‘The Sweetest Lie’, ‘Home’, and ‘As I Am’ and an older but fan favorite ‘Slide’. From the bands first appearance to their final song, it was obvious just how much the fans loved them. People were "Bubbly" as they came in swimsuits and beared the sun while singing and dancing to the various artists that graced the stage at the 13th annual Day in the Zone concert at Discovery Park. Howie Day, Colbie Callait, Hoobastank, and Train were the performers for the show put on by 100.5 FM The Zone. "I came to see Colbie," Anika Polyak of Serendipity Boutique said. "It's really hot out, and it's not as crowded as last year's show, but it's still good."
