Sacramento Jazz Fest: Friday – Monday, with a parade at noon on Friday in Old Sacramento on Front Street. Three-day badges or Single-day passes can be purchased in advance or at the event and range from $10 - $110.

Sacramento Hip Hop Awareness Fest: Friday – Monday at Washington neighborhood Center on 400 16th Street Sacramento. Tickets are $5 Day/$10 3- Day

Santigold, Trouble Andrew, and Amanda Black: These three artists will be performing at Empire Event Center on Friday at 6:30 PM Tix are $20.00

Rock n Walk for Kids: Lost Boys and Journey will be performing at this 5k walk to benefit various Sacramento area children’s charities. Walk starts at 8 a.m. at Raley Field and the concert starts at 8 p.m. Registration is free, though donations are encouraged. See walknrock.org for details. Concert Tickets start at $55.00.

Award winning pianist and conductor Leon Fleisher will perform twice this week in Sacramento. 4th of July Events & Concerts This Weekend and Next Week:

Friday Night Concerts in the Park @ Cesar Chavez Plaza: Golden Shoulders - Radio Orangevale - Jeepster - Trainwrek Revival. Get your “Concert Crawl” map @ the show for cool after concert discounts. 5PM/FREE (See Jonathan Mendick’s article “Concerts in The Park – Golden Shoulders Light Up Friday ”.. great info)

The Sacramento Independence Day Celebration @ Cal Expo Fairgrounds on Saturday July 4th at the grandstands with a huge fireworks display at 9:30PM.Other events inside Cal Expo include live music & dancing, food & drink vendors, and kids activities beginning at 5PM.

Hagan Park’s 4th of July Celebration in Rancho Cordova will host two fireworks shows over two nights beginning FRI and again on SAT. A holiday parade around Hagan Park begins at 10AM on SAT morning with carnival rides, kids activities, and musical guests include Pablo Cruise (FRI) & Double Funk Crunch (SAT).

If you are in downtown Sacramento or Old Sacramento on Friday night you will be able to see the Fireworks Show at Raley Field after the Sacramento Rivercats game.

Roseville Fourth of July Celebration will take place at Royer Park in Roseville and begins with a parade at 10AM on SAT and music from Capitol Pops Concert Band. Events include a fun run and children’s activities with music and a fireworks show at 9:30PM at Placer County Fairgrounds.

Annual Elk Grove 4th of July will take place at Elk Grove Regional Park and events include live music, kids activities, food & drink vendors beginning at 3PM on SAT, and a fireworks show at 9:30PM.

The 49th Annual Folsom Pro Rodeo will take place at Dan Russell Arena in Folsom. Daily events include rodeo competitions, a carnival, kids activities, country music & dancing with The Dave Russell Band thru SAT and nightly fireworks shows over the arena.

TUES July 7th: Thoroughly Modern Millie opens @ Wells Fargo Pavilion. Tickets are $46.00. Evening shows at 8PM.

Saturday, January 23rd the Sacramento Philharmonic presents Scheherazade "Songs of Hope" with guest Maestro Nader Abbassi at The Sacramento Community Center Theatre. Concert begins at 8PM and tickets are $16-$80.

Sunday, January 24th the Sacramento Philharmonic and B-Street Theatre present a special performance of Scheherazade for children featuring Middle Eastern dancing, arts & crafts, stories from 1001 Arabian Nights, and more.
