Once again the annual fashion IADT (International Academy of Design & Technology) student fashion show was held i Sacramento on April 29th. This time around the school held the show at the California Auto Museum. The theme "Rebelution" was derived from the 1920s era and silent movies of the day. This year might have been the largest show compared to years past with having 14 student designers participate. Along with the very large line up of designers the guest MC of the evening was Branden Rickman. Rickman is most known for being on the hit reality show "Make Me a Supermodel" season 2. The halftime entertainment was provided by Matt Locke who is an inspirational interior designer based in Los Angeles. Locke got his big break on HGTV's show "Design Star" in 2008. This years show was a complete sell out with people having to stand in the back and sides of the stage.

Influenced by legendary fashion houses, Drop a House introduced some up and coming talent to Sacramento’s runway Saturday night. Drop a House presented designers: Benzo Couture, Richard Hallmarq, the Vittore Brothers, and Lauren Oto. Bobby Trendy, who is best known as the late Anna Nicole Smith’s stylist, will be making a special appearance and showcasing his new line.

There was two shows as there were so many people who wanted to come to see these fantastic designers show their latest works there was not enough room in the Guild Theatre in Oak Park to allow it to all be done in one show. Each show was about 35 minutes long and had some known fashion celebrities involved. The MC of the evening was Perry Ullmann from "Make Me A Supermodel", and Ambreal Williams from America's Next Top Model walked in the show.

Richard Hallmarq not only being one of the designers he was one of the people who wanted to put a show like this together so he got some of his fellow local designers together and ended up having a real intimate show with not a bad seat in the house.

Jessica Summers-Miller is the owner of Loft 1513, a very chic clothing boutique located in San Francisco. Originally from Sacramento and Hiram Johnson High School graduate, doing a fashion show and sale in Sacramento was an easy choice for Jessica.

Jessica also happened to be long time friends with Marcus and Kolea Marquez, who own L Wine Lounge, which was the venue for the night.

The show came together in a very short period of time as they elected to do much more than just the typical fashion show. Proceeds from the sale portion of the fashion show as well as the bar tab would be donated to the Red Cross for Haiti earthquake relief.

Jessica said she always wanted to do a super intimate fashion show event showcasing her custom one off pieces of clothing.

In addition to the fashion show, the an upstairs area was filled with plenty of clothing for sale from her SF boutique. Jessica is proud to say that her line “ikohl” are one off and handmade with love in the USA. That also is the case for what she has in her boutique.

Loft 1513 houses 40-50 designers all whom offer one off pieces of original clothing all at very reasonable prices.

There was a great crowd of the faithful and fans of L Wine Lounge who came through regardless of the wet weather to enjoy some amazing designs and a bountiful spread of meats, cheese, and breads to complement the fantastic wines.

The service was impeccable with friendly smiles all over the Lounge. Even Mayor Kevin Johnson was spotted in the crowd socializing. It was really a great night full of wine, clothing, great vibes, and of course proceeds going out to the Red Cross to help with the earthquake relief.
