Love that's unmistakable, yet unexplainable and always an unpreventable feeling. Looked at by most as an waste of emotion, as we grow though it seems too hard to understand what wasn't built to be understood. But the the most harmful of all love's stages is the one people cast to the side so easily... puppy love.

Puppy love, or adolescent love, is usually frowned upon and almost never aided when it goes wrong. People look at age like a wall, as if being underage wraps you in some sort of force field making you unable to be penetrated by heartache. However that penetration takes place and when it does the destruction is great.

As your head starts to spin in circles and you wonder if that throbbing pain in your stomach will ever cease and your world is then consumed by chaos, the last words you want to hear are, "it's just puppy love." Because it's not just anything, more like a disease with no cure and no age limit. And as those walls come crumbling down and your heart begins to tear you start to realize that maybe, just maybe, hearts can really break. Puppies aren't invincible and love really does hurt.

Many don't let sorrow take them that far. They take the quickest route from lover's lane. But what about those still stuck on heartbreak avenue? What about those girls still crying a thousand tears and those lonely boys wondering why they can't just hate girls?

And then it hits them. Bam, two to the chest.

Depression and denial all wrapped into one. Lovers begin to wonder if they could really be hurt this badly. Of course not, but recovery doesn't pop out of thin air and that same rain still comes down on those same parades. And thats exactly where people like me come from, the ashes of the happy home built on false hope. We're the type of people searching for their silver lining somewhere in this big dark cloud they call "puppy love".

In reality puppies are the neediest of all lovers, sticking to the first person they see and searching for that unconditional touch.

But in this world us puppies can only do two things... either find a new owner or... go stray.

As I was reading your article, I was reminded of lyrics from a Bob Dylan song:
"Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare"

I guess what I am trying to say is that we get progressively more jaded with age and, sadly, we take it out on happy people. Whether is because of missed opportunities, bad experiences or being cynical we look at young people being in love as temporary or do not give it its due.
