Is the Cheesecake Factory Worth the Wait?

It’s perhaps the busiest restaurant in Sacramento. But is the Sacramento branch of the chain eatery The Cheesecake Factory located at Arden Mall worth the wait? I had to go see for myself.

The Cheesecake Factory is marketed as casual dining for people of all ages. Walking into the restaurant, you receive a warm welcome from the staff members. The restaurant’s décor is elegant,; Egyptian décor mixed with upscale furnishings shout comfort.

After waiting for a table, typically 15-30 minutes but sometimes more, you are greeted promptly by the server. Starting with drinks, the kids have a variety to choose from, such as the strawberry or raspberry lemonades, ciders, milk, and sodas.

For adults, the bar menu is full of liquid options too. For example, the “Georgia Peach” has a soothing taste of peach liqueur and tastes just like a peach. It is a splendid choice for both men and women.

Immediately after putting in drink orders, the server brings complimentary sourdough and whole wheat bread to munch on as you look over the mult-page menu. The options are overwhelming. The Cheesecake Factory has literally hundreds of items, starting with small plates and snacks ranging from $4 to $10 to full-scale dinners in the $15 range. Portions are hefty.

“When I first looked at the menu I had to study for this restaurant, I thought it was going to be so hard,” says server Megan Jones. “However, the Cheesecake Factory makes you go through a server class consisting of a full week of six-hour day, to learn every detail about each dish, dessert, and beverage. The class helped me to become the best server I could be.”

Our order, suggested by the server, was the most popular dish, known as the “Chicken Madeira.” This dish is a grilled chicken dish soaked in a delicious mushroom Madeira wine sauce, with mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side.

After the dinner, we were introduced to the restaurant’s signature cheesecake specials: dozens of types of every cheesecake imaginable.

“The original and fresh strawberry cheesecakes remain the most popular since the restaurant opened,” according to our server Morgan Jones. “However, we are specializing in our 30th anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, a dessert with two layer of original cheesecake, and two layers of our fudge cake, surrounded by beautiful chocolate Verona pearls on the outside. It’s personally my favorite, and one of our top cheesecakes at this time.”

With a fond farewell to end the day and a glimpse at the cheesecakes on the way out, the Cheesecake Factory continues to fulfill its mission statement: “To create an environment where absolute guest satisfaction is the highest priority.”

The Cheesecake Factory really is, worth the wait.

Great writing. The wait is crazy sometimes, but like you said, their drinks are quite well-mixed, and their food is for the most part, consistently good. However, from my experience, the Roseville Galleria Cheesecake Factory is an even longer wait than the Arden Mall one. I went there once on a Saturday (probably the reason for the long wait) and I waited for nearly two hours. Plus, the mall was closed, so it made the wait in the lobby seem even worse. The Arden one had a much shorter wait, but I went on a weekday, so that's probably why.

I actually find their cheesecakes overly sweet for my taste, but that's just a personal preference. I also tend to find the decor a little too schizophrenic in influence, but again, totally a matter of personal taste. Well written article, keep up the good work.

I have been to Cheesecake Factory a few times. First time was because I'd heard so much about it and then again because I had a couple of friends who were dying for cheesecake and thought it was the best cheesecake in the universe. Although it must be noted that that prior to discovering CC factory they thought that it nothing could possibly be more wonderful than a frozen Sarah Lee Cheesecake) Then once again because it was the only place that was open that could seat us in time to make it to a movie on time. I thought it was generally okay. Not great, not horrible but not worth waing for. Different strokes, right?

I guess each is always entitled to their opinion, however, I have to say that the Cheesecake establishment in like non other that I have found. This started back on a visit into Los Angeles in South California once to visit family and we ate here in either Bevery Hills or Santa Monica, and I have been coming for a visit every since. I had their Jambalaya and it was the best! Definitely almost like eating in New Orlean's -- excellent! I have been to selecrate getting married, getting divorced, birthday,s engagement parties, wedding parties, and luncheon; bar none, the service, food and wait time has been really good. I am not sure if I would wait two hours to be seated anywhere, but too each his own. I have plans to take my mom again this year for a special ocassions, and meet up with friends. Although its been quite some time since I have been there, I look forward to going. Thank you for the write up, and I have to agree that this is by far, one of the bests in Sacramento. Have never been to the one at the Roseville Galleria, I shop there frequently and have enve commented about it, but just never have eaten there. If the parking lot is any indication of the wait, I think I'll pass. My thanks to Mr. Mendick for the information.
