The River Cats were down 4-1 going into the bottom of the 4th and were not showing much life at the plate on Wednesday night... but then in the 5th inning the River Cats took over the lead and held on the rest of the way, beating the Isotopes 6-5.

* Aaron Cunningham went 2-3 with a 2 run home run in the 5th.... his second consecutive night with a homer, Cunningham's season batting  average now stands at .375
* Gregorio Petit had a big night going 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI's
* Danny Putnam went 2-4 with a double in the 7th inning
* Dana Eveland pitched 6 quality innings giving up just 3 earned runs and earning the win

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night at 7:05pm and is set to be a pitching battle as the River Cats send young prospect Gio Gonzalez (1-0 3.27 ERA) to the mound to face off against the veteran Shawn Estes.... yes THAT Shawn Estes who once was the ace for the San Francisco Giants and has since struggled through injuries and pitched for 7 different big league teams.... with Albequerque this year he holds a 2-1 record and a 2.61 ERA.
