Friday Night Concert in the Park kicks it off real big this week after an upsetting bout of rain forced event coordinators to cancel last week’s performance.
It was a little bit of a different scene this year with all types of new vendors, including Buckhorn Grill, Jealousy Catering, Joshua’s Ribs, Toppings Pizza and Fuzio, just to name a few.
Also this year were booths set up for information about the city with lots of flyers and things to do in downtown Sacramento. One booth was for a group called Greensol, which is a company that produces bottled water, except their niche is that they have bottles that are made from corn and are biodegradable (and yes their bottles are colored green).
Besides all of the new vendors, the park was packed full of people last night for the first official week. The beer garden was of course full of downtown Sacramento’s 21 and over crowd enjoying the music and just hanging back with friends and family.
The music for last night’s show was a nice bluegrass country style and it sure did make for a nice show. The opening act was The Fortunate Few followed by headliners Rick Estrin and The Night Cats.
The Fortunate Few rocked the stage for a good hour and the Night Cats ended out the night at about 8:30. Now if you had your heart set on seeing the performers on what would have been the first week, no need to fear as they have rescheduled those acts for July 17th, according to the event coordinators.
We love all sorts of stuff, but would love to see some molten metal, thrash, or grinding hardcore.
Any chance of getting Sentinel Beast there?
