Hope Productions, a Sacramento nonprofit hosting Hanson McClain’s WalkNRock, will be bringing a piece of the hit band Journey to Second Saturday on May 9 in midtown.  The band itself won’t make it to Sacramento until their concert at Raley Field on May 23.  But through the support of dozens of volunteers, midtown restaurants, clubs, bands and business owners, their hit song “Don’t Stop Believin’” will be playing at 7 p.m. this Saturday throughout the midtown area (primarily near 19th and Capital and J and 20th Streets).  In the spirit of public performances, the “Hope” is for the thousands in attendance to join in for a sing-and-dance-along to bring awareness to the upcoming concert and charities it supports.

Journey, a San Francisco-based rock band formed in 1973, is primarily known for its power ballads. In addition to “Don’t Stop Believin’” they also wrote hits "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully" and "Open Arms."  They have sold over 47 million albums in the US achieving multi-platinum status with 18 Top 40 singles.  The hit “Don’t Stop Believin’” is the number one downloaded song on iTunes, hitting the two million mark.  The song reemerged in the current music scene after being featured in the final scene of The Sopranos.

Hanson McClain’s WalkNRock will be held on Saturday, May 23 at Raley Field featuring a 5k Fun Walk in the morning and concert that evening with the one and only Journey.  Concert tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.com .  All proceeds from the event will benefit local charities including The Boys & Girls Clubs, CASA, WIND Youth Services, Keaton Raphael Foundation, Camp Okizu, People Reaching Out and River Cats Foundation.  Sacramento Kings guard Bobby Jackson serves as their Honorary Spokesperson.

Hope Production Foundation’s mission is to provide resources to children and youth charities to ensure sustainability, viability and awareness. They will achieve these goals by providing fundraising and marketing resources to strengthen nonprofit organizations and benefit local children and youth through sustainable, large-scale, profitable events.  For more information on Hope Productions, go to www.hopeproductions.org or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Roseville-CA/Hope-Productions-Sacramento/55298579614.
