"You can make a difference..." What a slogan, huh? Surely everyone has heard that once before in their lives, and at this point, it's probably lost it's meaning to most of us.

Though, what is the true definition of "making your difference," of "impacting the world?" Let's think back to someone who has made an impact on your life through a comment or action... Name them - we want to know! Gosh, in today's day to day life, i'm sure you're with me when I say we need all the inspiration we can get!

Here's the catch, i'm not posting this in order to motivate you for 5 seconds. I'm posting this with the intention that each person who reads this will believe it and become determined! SACRAMENTO - your city -  needs YOUR help! May it be with the homeless, with cleaning up, with teaching, with love and support, with constructing, there are always ways in this city to plug in and make your mark.

Build HOPE in your city! Start here and reach outward. Sacramento is a city with opportunity to improve, to change, and respond.

C'mon folks. Get to it. Get involved. Let me know how you're going to help. If anyone needs ideas or needs help connecting with an organization or event, leave me a comment and I will find the perfect match for whatever you're interested in!

Believe that one person can MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

I forgot to mention the best quote I ever heard...

"IT'S NOT A MATTER A MONEY, BUT RATHER A MATTER OF WILL."

Please visit our volunteer web pages. We have lots of opportunities to help. Everything from selecting and delivering gifts to shut-in seniors to helping do free tax returns for low-income families. Here's our site: www.cityofsacramento.org/volunteers I'd recommend looking at the short-term opportunities and trying something that sounds fun. You can volunteer for a few hours on a single day and make a difference.

We need volunteers, too! Check out our website and contact me if you want to help- we especially need a volunteer ESL teacher in Natomas for Russian-speaking residents at low-income housing. www.lifestepsusa.org
