At a time when there are alerts out from the Feds to avoid travel to our Southern Neighbors in Mexico for reasons from Swine Flu to Mexican Mafia, it was a fun time in Auburn as the Hispanic and local community joined together to celebrate this Mexican Holiday.  Old Towne Auburn was the perfect setting for this family fun event, as the community joined together to put on an evening of fun for all to enjoy!

Be it for Cinco de Mayo, or maybe  the upcoming Old Town Antique Fair on May 17, or just a weekend get away, Auburn offers something for all to enjoy.  Please come on up and enjoy the heapin' hospitality of your Sierra Foothills neighbors!

We should not be Celebrating a Mexican holiday...or Mexican heritage, last time I checked this is America.

Like other holidays, Cinco de Mayo is nothing but another day to market crap and sell alcohol, there is simply no other reason to celebrate a Mexican holiday.

last time I checked we had many neighbors and friends of Mexican heritage, who could remind us that this land belonged to others before we came here. But instead, they share their wonderful traditions of fun and hospitalityl

Was Irish St. Pat's day any different? Booze was a major draw there too. How about Chinese New Year--smaller but still a celebration? Now if we celebrated one holiday from each of our diverse cultures who live in Sacramento, look at the fun (besides booze) and education we could have and the great food we could eat?
