Conversation on The Sacramento Press about: This week's slew of music, festivals, classes & comedy

Spring is almost over and so begins the onslaught of fun, fabulous things to do during the summer months in Sacramento! It's not quite time to break out the bikinis and flip-flops, but I have spotted some sleeveless tops and open-toed shoes lately...my all-time favorite season in Sacramento is almost here! This week, and particularly this week-end, is already jam-packed with music, festivals and outdoor events with the promise of the heat soon to come. I hope you haven't made plans already...

Thank you for your comments John. You are right! I should've named the bands plaing at CIP this week- in addition to Sol Peligro, Retrograde Revolution & La Noche Oskura will be there. I noticed that you were mentioning some events that will be coming up in future weeks. For the purpose of this article that I write every week, I focus on the events for that specific week. There are so many awesome things going on, it's virtually impossible to list them all even for a single week. I do note that there are many more events going on and can be found on my website as well. And just to clarify, the Unity & Diversity Festival is not free. You may want to check their website.

I appreciate that you want to plug your website too. There are many great websites that feature Sacramento events, yours being one of them. Really what this is all about is making sure we do what we can to get the word out about these events so that people come out. This way the talented & creative minds participating & putting the events together can sustain themselves and continue to support the entertainment seeking folks out there. Collectively, I hope that we can get the word out. Thanks again.

Why not name the band opening Friday Night Concerts int he Park? Sol Peligro.
Lounge on 20 hosts a summer fashion show first week of May.
Raley Brew Fest around the corner even though the West Coast Brew Fest is only 3 weeks away and much bigger. The Indie Festival is May 2 at Fremont park and is free as is the Unity and Diversity Festival at Southside Park.BLVD at the new Beatnik studio will be a very hot show today. But of course, most of this is simply at Sacvibe.com.
