SACRAMENTO, CALIF.- March 4, 2012- You cannot escape the world of  fashion. Everyone has their own sense of style and this is what makes them unique. Whether you're rocking the latest fashion statements from  fashion week or you're wearing a brown paper bag, your clothes are part of what makes you, you.

Yesterday, the Hidalgo Family hosted the fashion show "Springtime in Paris" at Oakmont High School. It was a night of high fashion and French delicasies.  Not only was it a great show, but the all proceeds went to a non-profit organization, Zafia's Family House.

Zafia's Family House is a local non-profit that provides temporary housing to families who have children that need medical treatment at Roseville Kaiser Permanente or Roseville Sutter hospitals. Zafia's Family House was a young girl's dream. Zafia was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma cancer at the age of 12. She fought for two years before passing away. This organization is dedicated to her, her fight and the fight that other children will continue to battle with any illness.

The following local designers and retailers showed off their latest pieces to show their support of Zafia's Family House: Cache, Fashion Bug, Sugar Shack, IP'S 9saps, Ashton, Dakota, and BrownSkin Designs.

The show ended with a fabulous line by BrownSkin Designs. Fashion designer, Nina Brown, born and raised in her native Canada, has lived in the Sacramento area since 2007. Her interim line was inspired by the seasons of Winter turning to Spring. Lots of browns, golds, and greys were used in her pieces. The finale was a gorgeous gold flowing gown with a Marilyn Monroe vibe worn by model Kaila Michelle.

It's great to be part of a wonderful community, where everyone is willing to help each other. Because of the guests contributions and the lovely talents of make-up artists, models, hair stylists, and fashion designers, a few more families will have somewhere to stay while their child is fighting for their life.

Disclosure: I am the publicist for BrownSkin Designs and have been a personal friend for about 2 years.
