Free gardening classes start soon

The City of Sacramento Department of Neighborhood Services announces:

Are you ready to start your garden? Is your yard in need of a make over?

Then good news: Neighborhood Services is sponsoring free green gardening classes! They'll take place in April and May and will cover a range of topics, from improving soil to selecting drought-tolerant plants, as well as City landscaping regulations.

FREE Gardening Classes offered to the community include the following workshops:

  • It All Begins with the Soil
  • Removing Your Thirsty Lawn
  • Vegetables and Other Edibles
  • Drought Tolerant and Native Plants
  • Fruit and Shade Trees
  • Pest Management in the Garden
  • Composting and Worm Farming
  • City of Sacramento Utilities Department
  • City of Sacramento Code Enforcement Department

Classes will be taught by professionals including the UC Cooperative Extension Sacramento County Master Gardeners and local gardeners.

Brought to you in partnership with the Code Enforcement Department, Department of Utilities, and the Parks and Recreation Department.
