Region Builders, a building industry coalition founded by the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange that includes thirteen esteemed local trade and professional associations and industry businesses, has unanimously endorsed Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson’s bid for re-election.

Mayor Kevin Johnson’s first term as Mayor has elevated Sacramento onto the national stage and provided the City with a strong voice for economic growth. His effective leadership has marked several achievements for the local business community. These achievements include successfully championing our “Sacramento Streamline” proposals which will continue to significantly improve the City’s permitting processes, leading the selection of Sacramento as one of two Cities in the nation to be chosen for a $100 million privately financed contract to create jobs retrofitting commercial buildings, and organizing the region to embrace the largest economic development opportunity of our decade; the construction of an Entertainment & Sports Complex.

Bill Porter, Board President of Region Builders, discussed how Region Builders was pleased to support this influential advocate for our City and industry. “The Mayor has clearly demonstrated that he is dedicated to creating a more robust local business climate and making the Capitol City a business leader once again. Our Organization is mobilizing to assisting him in achieving this vision.”

Mayor Johnson explained that he was excited to continue to work with Region Builders to create a better business climate. “Right now, we have a lot of positive momentum on making our City a regional destination for businesses to locate and thrive. Together we will move forward with a new set of economic development strategies that will improve our business climate and put people back to work,” stated Mayor Johnson.

This month Region Builders will be holding a fundraiser solely to support the re-election of Mayor Kevin Johnson. This event will be held on Wednesday, November 16th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the respected industry leading architecture firm Lionakis (1919 19th St, Sacramento, CA). Tickets are priced at $200 per individual attendee.

I wonder if Kevin Johnson will be able to attend this event or if he will be "out of town" like he has been for so many city council meetings?
