A Grand Opening for T2 Performance Solutions was held this Friday at the Urban Hive on H and 20th Street. This Launch Celebration included music by Clemon Charles and Michael Wilson. Featured artist was Raphael Delgado. Delicious food was provided by Mulvaney’s B&L and Perry Creek Winery provided several fine wine selections.

The Urban Hive began to fill up early with many guests, artists and friends providing a great social setting. Veronica Delgado, Vera Icon PR, was on hand and introduced me to her mom and brother and also to Tracy and Tim Saville

Tracy Saville went up to the microphone to welcome guests, friends and students thanking them for coming to the Launch Celebration. She was visibly and happily overwhelmed by the support of those who were in attendance. She went on to say, “We’re really blown away by you coming and deciding to share what is a very momentous day. There’s some really interesting things going on in the world both serious and whimsical. Kate got married right?” Tracy got a good laugh out of that.

Tracy continued, “Very serious things are also going on in the world, in Japan, in Alabama and other places. We wanted to have a party both to mark the moment and the time when we come together to be of service to each other. Celebrating is what significant life experience is all about and we wanted to this for you, for the people we care about. Thank you one and all."

Tracy also said, "In 20 years when we look back on all of this and say 'whatever made us think that we could go out and help other people do their lives better?' Hopefully we’ll look back and say, ‘You know I’m happy so we did okay.’ At the end of the day we’re led to the work that we’re doing. We wake up every day excited about touching people’s lives and every time we do we try to make it count. We have lots of great things going on in our company but I’m not going to talk about any of them because you all can pick up brochures you can look at our website. I hope you’ll allow us to support you in what you’re doing in your lives."

Tracy asked those in attendance to raise their hands if they’ve been in a classroom where she’s taught and it seemed the majority of people raised their hands. “You guys are awesome!” she said and received some applause and cheers.

Artists where recognized and many of them were in attendance showing off their work and answer questions. Tracy indicated that wherever T2 goes you’ll see art, artists and live music.

Perry Creek Winery was recognized and thanked. On May 22 Tragically White will be performing some classic rock at the winery for an event called Builders and Artists. Dieter Juergens owner of Perry Creek Winery was on hand and pouring wine for guests with Timothy O'hagain.

Michelle Alexander, Executive Director of the Arts and Business Council (ABC) of Sacramento, was asked to come up and say a few words. She thanked the audience for attending the event and wished success for Tracy Saville’s new endeavor. Michelle talked a little about what ABC does. Michelle indicated that they help support creative professionals both fine artists and commercial artists via one of their main programs called Business Volunteers for the Arts placing them in pro bono projects for local non-profit organizations as well as with individual artists. “If any of you are willing to volunteer, I’ll be happy to put you to work in a number of creative projects.” said Michelle as she ended her address.

Raphael Delgado’s work was featured at the Urban Hive and he also addressed the audience.  Tracy Saville introduced Raphael who started by saying, “Hi mom!” she was in the audience as was his sister Veronica Delgado. He praised Tracy as he talked about art saying, "That exuberant lust for life that I think embodies art and the abstract way of thinking are valuable commodities and like she was saying; art, wine, music it's a way to share a small part of myself to the world.” He went on to discuss sharing culture and beatifying your surroundings. He had an artistic way of expressing himself passionately via the spoken word and his art. His mom and sister listened and you could see the pride from both of them.

“It’s a pleasure and an honor to be here today. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Bottom line, have a great time, soak it all in because it will take a second to kick in. Thank you so much, enjoy!” Raphael ended his remarks and the audience responded in kind with cheers and applause.

After that it was time to enjoy more food, drink, art, music and socializing. Clemon Charles returned to his guitar and the microphone to serenade guests as they mingled.

Many artists were on hand. Michele Stevens was among the many artists at the Urban Hive and as I admired her work I picked up one of her cards. She also teaches clay and art classes to students of all ages. Summer group lessons are also part of her work and she can be reached via email.
