Eight professional mountain bike riders including world-renowned rider and course builder Randy Spangler, will be at College Cyclery this weekend selling their bikes and gear.  A nice thing about being a pro rider is that sponsors throw down big bucks to ensure that their riders have the best equipment.  This is your chance to find out what they ride, how they ride and get crazy deals on top-notch bikes and gear.

College Cyclery has been around since 1936 making it the oldest shop in town.  Known as the kings-of-kustoms, this shop puts out some of the baddest looking bikes in town.  The public is also allowed to open "shop" temporarily at the "Customer Appreciation Sidewalk Sale" and sell their bike(s) and bike related gear.

Company reps will also be on deck giving away swag and College Cyclery will be serving up fresh coffee.  Customers who make a purchase will receive a free ticket to attend the first public viewing of the "College Compound" to witness the pro's ride the dirt track and partake in the family style B-B-Q.  The "after-party" starts at 2 p.m.  Folks wishing to sell at the event should contact info at collegecyclery.biz or call (916) 456-2042 and ask for Loreen or shop owner and dragster race, Terry Cox.

Pro riders include:

Randy Spangler

Jamie Goldman

Alex Reveles

Josh Bender

Ryan Howard

Kyle Jameson

Duncan Riffle

Brad Benedict

I hope this isn't considered too marketing driven, but it is slightly addy, but mostly content driven. It is my intention that the general bike riding public will find it interesting and maybe show up and even see the pro-demo afterwards. Ride safe - god knows it's a jungle out there. I took a nice fall at full speed last weekend at 21st and K. Too many people walking thru red lights, then there's the cars!

I had actually seen the promo card, and wanted someone to write about it. Thanks for doing so! The main thing that you don't have is what these guys will be doing other than selling gear and, hopefully, talking cycling, which is worth checking out, I think.

The pro riders will be at the 'after-party' BBQ performing their aerial assaults at the "College Cyclery Compound" - a dirt track built by one of the pros.

Company reps will be at the sale giving away swag.

Locals are also allowed to participate in the sale.

Rare and vintage parts from College Cyclery, some never before offered to the public.

Showing the College Cyclery DVD.

The BBQ is a DIY style feed meaning folks wishing to throw down a picnic may and should but I mistakenly wrote that the BBQ would be provided. Sorry (DIY = do it yourself).
