The Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange ended 2010 with a bang as they capped off the year by recording the highest number of projects in the planroom on record.
The Exchange began keeping statistics on planroom numbers in 1987 and has seen upticks and downticks in the number of projects received that have typically been commensurate with the local economy. Despite the continuance of the great recession through 2010 the Exchange recorded 3,436 projects in the year. That is 18% higher than the numbers recorded in 2009 and higher than any number on record since the Exchange began tracking these numbers in ‘87.
“We attribute this large uptick in the number of projects for our members to three unrelated items: the influx of federally funded projects, the tightening of project budgets that caused more owners to use our service to benefit from a competitive bidding process, and of course hard work by staff,” said Joshua Wood, Executive Director of the Exchange.
“We are optimistic about 2011, we expect more projects than ever before,” said Wood.
The Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange is the region’s oldest and largest construction trade association.
