Sacramento has gone to the dogs where ugly is adorable and being cute is so-so at Sacramento's Ugliest Dog Contest & Cutest Canine Pageant held Saturday at The Greens Hotel on Del Paso Blvd.

Adam Sartain of Sacramento Speaks Media Agency did a professional job as emcee.

Tangles a Pomeranian, won paws down, as the number one Cutest.

The Ugliest dog award went to Icky, a Chinese crested canine with almost no hair on its body except for patches here and there and a lovely mohawk. Icky is an old hand at winning. He won the World’s Ugliest Dog Online Voting this past year.

Cortez Quinn, District Director for Roger Dickinson, Councilmember Sandy Sheedy and Ruthie Bolton,  Former WNBA Sacramento Monarchs player, were the guest judges.

A little encouragement was needed at times.

And some got the royal treatment all the way to the stage!

How cute am I?

Minnie Me, a Teddy Bear Teacup Poodle from Grass Valley, lives the life of luxury. She has a fiance named Bernie whom she will marry at the end of the year. They each have their own Facebook page where they talk to one another.Minnie Me and her friends raise money for people who can't afford vet bills for their pets. Her pink outfit from New Zealand was custom made for her.

Sacramento Top Dawg Restaurant and Del Paso Boulevard Partnership hosted the pageant.

Proceeds benefit Sacramento Area Animal Coalition, Sacramento SPCA, Puppy Love Rescue and City of Sacramento Animal Care Services.
