Last night at Pangaea Cafe, a local hip coffee house owned by Rob Archie, hosted the first ever SacTweetUp, an amazing gathering of Sacramentan tweeples.  If you don't know what tweeples are then you are probably not tweeting.

Tweeples are people using twitter. Twitter is a popular social networking and micro-blogging service used for staying connected in real time and used by more than 1 million people worldwide.

It seems that everybody is tweeting.  Even Lance Armstrong twittered about his bike being stolen to his thousands of followers right after he learned about it.

Last night’s SacTweetUp was a complete success.  There were about 25 to 30 people present.  I was so happy to be there; I met a lot of the people that I already connect with via twitter.

I spoke to one of the organizers of this Tweetup.  Ricardo Robles, of Capsity Offices known by the screen name Entreprini , he was excited that the turnout was so large.  “I want to bring Sacramento twitters together.  Collaboration is important and we can work together to build a local community through Twitter,” says Robles.  The goal is to do this on a regular basis, maybe charge for future ones and give proceeds to local charities, he continues.

Andy Arnott, which uses adCause as his screen name, is also another organizer.  He moved recently from the Bay Area.  “I want to meet more people in Sacramento and get the business entrepreneurial vibe,” says Arnott.  He is also the founder of AdCause.com, an ad network for twitter where you can donate your profits to the charity of your choice.  You are in complete control of your space; you can donate nothing, or break it down in percentage, Arnott explains.

The SacTweetUp exceeded my expectations; very engaging and interesting group of people.

I am already anxiously looking forward to our next Tweetup.

How do I get notified of the next event??
Do you have a list of twitter user names for the people that attended so I can start following some Sac twitterers?
I just moved here from Orange County.

I had a great time and met a lot of new people at the #sactweetup. It's always fun bringing a virtual community together in the physical world. Thanks Pangaea for providing the great venue!
