It was a party at Fairytale Town Saturday night as families attended the annual fundraiser hosted by Crystal Ice Cream Dream. The park was transformed for Fairytale Town’s birthday celebration, aiming at recreating "How the West Was Fun."

At the entrance, the Wells Fargo Stage Coach was used as a prop for many photo ops. Guests arrived dressed for the Wild, Wild West theme in cowboy boots, eager and anxious for the all-you-can-eat ice cream social and western-themed activities.

Families ducked under the Humpty Dumpty gate and began their western adventure by passing over the moat to King Arthur’s Castle for the root beer float party.

Kids took in the park's attractions, playing sheriff with their toy guns in the bandit hideout, a designated spot for a child’s imagination to create their own western movie. Others were consumed with the Jack and the Beanstalk slides, petting the animals and making arts-and-craft sheriff badges and vests.

The live country music from the Bobby McDowell Band and circus act clowns kept families entertained in between visiting the ice cream stations.

Parents visited the saloon station, sponsored by Pyramid Ales, for their own beverages. Haystacks served as a resting place for hungry parents and children to take a break from all the overwhelming activities and chow down on some BBQ.

“I’m having lots of ice cream!” cried Tia Marie, 6, when asked if she was having fun.

This was the overall consensus. Tia Marie and friends took a break from the ice cream stations and worked on their fashionable sheriff accessories.

For those who lasted until the end, the boot-stompin’ fun ended and the parent’s rounded up the buckaroos around 10 p.m. It was a successful party for all ages.
