Samson Motors, Incorporated will be debuting their ground-test vehicle for the Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle (also known as the “Flying Motorcycle”) at the Golden West Regional Fly In and Air Show “Higher Ever Higher” held at the Yuba County Airport this weekend.

Samson Motors is a Placer County company, and the test vehicle was constructed in the Auburn area.

“Our tube-frame test vehicle is a work in progress, helping us finalize drive train and suspension systems for the future flying prototype”, said Sam Bousfield, Samson CEO and Switchblade designer. “As a kit aircraft that both drives and flies, we will be saving people money and time, allowing them to go directly to their destination without the usual detours, delays and hassles.”

Bousfield, a Meadow Vista resident, is scheduled as a keynote speaker each day at the event. He will be speaking on aviation topics: "Move over, Jetsons! The latest on the Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle, America's Flying Motorcycle," plus an interactive Q&A at the end, "Transportation Expanding Aviation with Samson's Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle," "Save $$$, Time and Energy with the Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle," "Transportation for the Future and the Samson Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle."

The Yuba County Airport is located at 1364 Sky Harbor Dr. in Olivehurst. Gates open at 8 a.m. event closes each day at 5 p.m. Each day at noon, Champion Reno Air Racer John Parker will attempt to set new world speed record for piston aircraft in his Blue Thunder P-51 Mustang. On Saturday, Sport Class Reno Racers will perform a mock race and approximately 1,000 aircraft will attend the event.
