The River City Shooting Gallery is set to open its doors for tourists and locals looking for an old fashioned shoot-em-up good time when visiting Old Sacramento.

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 1, 2010) As the economy seems to be recovering, the owners of The River City Saloon in Old Sacramento have decided to keep building on the fun theme they brought to Old Sacramento by opening a new venture called The River City Shooting Gallery.

Over the years, Sean Derfield has always felt that the Old Sacramento area was missing one thing: an old west themed saloon with a family friendly shooting gallery for the many tourists and families that visit the area. But after realizing that his saloon, that opened last year, could not house the 600 square foot shooting gallery, he realized it would have to wait.Well after the first year of the saloon being a success with locals and tourists alike, it was time to open the shooting galley. After months of haggling with local landlords and trying to make them see his vision of what fun this would be, D&S Development gave him a thumbs up by signing a lease for the vacant 131 K Street location located in the historic Union Hotel. The shooting gallery will feature 6 rifles for kids and adults alike to shoot at props that fit the Old Sacramento theme. Props that pop, explode, and talk back to you include a heckling fox, dancing ducks, talking skull heads and much more. The River City Shooting Gallery is located in Old Sacramento at 131 K Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814 and their Grand Opening will be Thursday, June 3rd, 2010.

good stuff. I used to love the shooting gallery at Great America when I was a kid. I'll be sure to check it out, take a couple shots.

Thanks, it's been a lot of fun. If you remember Great America used to have a little soda shop that sold sarsaparilla for 25 cents, we do that at the River City Saloon as well. Its straight from the keg and at 25 cents it's the best deal in Old Sacramento

What?!? That's so rad. I can't wait to kill that stupid heckling fox.

Also, did you refer to yourself in the third person in this story? Weird. But the shooting gallery's still pretty rad.

Let's all go, make it a group outing--and we shall all refer to ourselves in the third person!

Down as in up? My stats are from the latest FBI data.. One of the worst in the nation.. Yours? Propaganda, just like California needs more schools for the students that are not enrolling.... Check your stats.. Does this sound safe? MY CHANCES OF BECOMING A VICTIM in Sacramento 1 in 86..

Any one heard when the're going to put up the "Gold Rusher" roller coaster in Old Sac? Now that's gonna be totally rad dude! I also heard something about the " Miners Jamboree" -with singing animatronic gold miners... "Oh no, oh no, it's a miner's life for me, we pick and shovel, and.."

Wow! After playing that shooting gallery it kinda ruins it for me when I go to Disneyland. It makes Disneyland's gallery look pretty amateur!
