Sacramento, Calif.— Voyage Home Loans strives to make a difference in communities around the world through charitable and Green efforts monthly. To further their Green endeavors this summer, Voyage is launching their Plant-A-Tree 2010 program June 1. For every home loan that is started with Voyage throughout June, a tree will be planted in that person’s name anywhere in the US and abroad. Voyage hopes to plant at least 1,000 trees during the month through their partner, Plant-It 2020.

Plant-It 2020, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation, performs worldwide tree-planting, donates fuel-efficient cooking stoves to needy families, and provides forestry, soil, and biochar education. Voyage’s donation will help Plant-It increase the sustainability of the world's forests.

"We are proud to be partnering with Voyage Home Loans," said Michael Thau, executive director of Plant-It 2020. "They have a history and a dedication of 'giving back' to philanthropic and charitable organizations and their Plant-A-Tree program will help denuded forest areas thrive. We are proud to assist them with the planting of indigenous trees in non-harvested locations."

Voyage’s Plant-A-Tree program was sparked from the thought that, “as the US continues to regenerate and reinvent itself in these hard times, why not make a contribution that will last for many years in neighborhoods’ backyards and in countries that need it?” Voyage wants to improve the Earth we all share, and in June, it’s one tree at a time.

“This is the first time we have been able to truly involve every customer we touch in our mission,” said Josh Harmatz, CEO of Voyage. “By planting a tree on our customer’s behalf, we will be able to connect our clients with Plant-It 2020 and Voyage’s mission of improving the environment, creating sustainable means, and lessening humanity’s carbon footprint worldwide. June 2010 will be a month to remember.”
